John Fisher Tall Clock

This very fine Chippendale tall clock suffered a dreadful fate. It was bumped into at an antiques show and it fell forward smashing to the floor. I had to replace the dial frame but everything else went back together nicely. The case had been cut down so I rebuilt the base to bring it back up to its original height. And since the inlay was a later embellishment I reveneered those areas. I also recreated the appropriate style rosettes, the existing ones being an incorrect later addition to the case.. This is a John Fisher, York, Pennsylvania clock, c. 1790, in cherrywood. The case is attributed to Adam Ault, a Hanover, Pennsylvania maker.
