Blatchly Tall Clock
It is possible that this clock could be the earliest tall clock movement and dial made in America. It can be dated as early as 1690 based on the details of the dial engraving. Unfortunely we have not been able to find any documentation of a clockmaker by the name of Blatchly in early Virginia history.
It is not known what happened to the original case, so I was called upon to recreate a case for it. I attempted to construct it like other very early tall clock cases with a long waist compared to the base and the rather small bun feet, and all moldings are correct to the period.
